Data & Reports

River Valleys CoC collects and shares data to evaluate progress toward ending homelessness, inform efforts to create new housing and services in the homeless response system, and to create an open atmosphere for generating solutions. Publicly available data is posted here per the CoC's Data Access and Release Policy. Special data requests can be made using the form at the bottom of this page.

  • Community Needs Survey report.  Summary of responses received in the biennial surveys for Individuals & Families who recently experienced homelessness or housing instability, and for Community Partners living and working in the region.

Coordinated Entry & Housing Problem Solving Evaluation reports

The Coordinated Entry Committee of the CoC approved a CE Evaluation Framework in October 2022. Under that framework, the Committee partners with the Data & TA Committee, Youth Committee, and Lived Experience Workgroup to regularly assess outcomes from the regional shared access and referral system so that adjustments can be made as needed to support better outcomes.

Reports available upon request. (See also LSA reports above.)

Other data resources

Statewide Homeless Survey

Every three years, Wilder Research conducts a statewide study to better understand the prevalence, causes, circumstances, and effects of homelessness. The study includes face-to-face interviews with people throughout the state who meet the federal definition of homelessness, as well as a count of people who were homeless on a single Thursday in late October. Like the Point in Time Count, the numbers reflect people counted on the night of the study. Wilder Research also estimates total persons experiencing homelessness based on the one-night count interviews.

Special Data Requests

The policy of the River Valleys Continuum of Care  is to make its data available to the public to an extent that facilitates informed community planning to prevent and end homelessness within the CoC region. In general, the CoC prioritizes release of standard sets of data for community use. Other requests for data will be assessed on a case by case basis and will be prioritized for release depending on the capacity of CoC staff and anticipated benefit from the release to the CoC, its members, and persons served. This form is a tool for requesting data beyond the standard data released by the CoC.

Because special data releases demand additional time from CoC staff, special data releases must provide value to the CoC, its members, and/or its partners in preventing and ending homelessness. As such, special data releases are prioritized based on the CoC Data Access and Release Policy. Per the policy, data releases may also be limited based on level of detail, geographic specificity, or time required to produce and deliver data.

Please review the Data Access and Release policy and all data publicly posted on the CoC website before submitting a special request.
