Requesting CoC Support or Confirmation for Applications

River Valleys CoC requires a written project description and a presentation from any applicant requesting a CoC Confirmation or signature on the application. In order to ensure that the CoC meets its obligation to review the project, CoC members must receive all required project information in a timely manner.

Upon request, the CoC may provide documentation of support for projects that align with CoC-approved goals, priorities, and values. Requests for support should be made as soon as possible to allow for CoC review and votes, where necessary.

Please review the policy on “CoC Support for Project Applications” and the current CoC Plan before requesting an MOU or letter of support.

Steps for MHFA applicants

In order to ensure that CoC members can review the proposal and prepare questions for an applicant, the following requirements are in place for 2022:
  1. REVIEW CoC PRIORITIES for projects serving homeless persons. CoC-approved priorities for MHFA projects are posted on the Application Resources page of the MHFA website (under Methodologies).
  2. COMPLETE THE PROJECT SUMMARY FORM at least 10 days before the meeting at which you want to present your project. CoC staff will confirm your presentation date/time.
  3. SUBMIT A COPY OF THE COMPLETED CoC CONFIRMATION FORM (MHFA form) by the date of the meeting in which you present. This form should be included in your application materials provided by MHFA.. Please contact the Agency if you have questions about it.

As in previous years, the CoC strongly encourages applicants to include a local CoC member agency in your project presentation. This could be a service provider partner, an agency that has provided input on the project design, or some other member who can vouch for the project.

2022 Timelines

For applicants in the 2022 RFP (due July 2022), these presentation dates are available:
  • 9:00am-10:00am on Thursday, May 19 via Zoom. Registration details will be sent to contacts for projects that submit their project summary via the form. Forms due by May 9 via electronic form link above.
  • 9:00am-10:00am on Thursday, June 16 via Zoom. Registration details will be sent to contacts for projects that submit their project summary via the form. Forms due by June 6 via electronic form link above.
No presentation dates are available after June 16, so please plan accordingly for your project application materials.

NOTE: In a slight change from previous years, project presentations will occur BEFORE the regularly scheduled CoC meeting on these dates. CoC members with interest in the projects will be invited to participate and ask questions before the meeting. A vote regarding provision of CoC confirmation forms will occur early on the meeting agenda on the same day.
